College Football Games to Watch Week 2

Michigan (1-0) @ #16 Notre Dame (1-0)
7:30 PM NBC
· This
classic rivalry has been going on for the past 120 years! The Fighting Irish and Wolverines will have one more battle this Saturday in South Bend. Both teams
are coming off easy victories last week with Notre Dame defeated Rice 48-17 and Michigan
redeemed themselves against Appalachian State 52-14. The Fighting Irish have
their sights set on qualifying for the College Football Playoffs, one loss to
their rivals can hurt their chances. Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly feels
that if his defense can shut down Devin Gardner then Golston and the offense
can bring in the W. Notre Dame is a slight favorite but don't rule Michigan out.
Virginia Tech (1-0) @ #8 Ohio State
(1-0) 8:00 PM ESPN
· The
Buckeyes outlasted Navy last Saturday in Baltimore 34-17. Redshirt Freshman QB
J.T. Barrett, in replace of injured Braxton Miller threw for 226 yards on 12-15
passing. Barrett is not Braxton Miller by any means but the kid can play
football. Ohio State is coached by URBAN MEYER; trust me, the boys will get
better weekly. The Hokies are led by Junior QB Michael Brewer. In his first
career Brewer threw for 251 yards on 23-30 passing. The Hokies returned 12 starters with 5 of them being on the defensive side of the ball. The Buckeyes will have to perform nothing
under sub-par offensively to pick up a W this weekend. Let us not forget that
Ohio State is 23-2 in the last 25 games played.
#14Southern Cal (1-0) @ #13 Stanford
(1-0) 3:30 PM ABC
· And
its SHOWTIME!!! If you do not get a chance to watch Pac-12 football often,
this is a game you will have to see. Both the Trojans and Cardinals have 2
goals for the season, one to win the Pac-12 and two getting to the College
Football Playoffs. This growing rivalry has been one of the most intense and
exciting in the Pac-12 in recent years. Steve Sarkisian and the Trojans have
plenty of talent to stand toe-to-toe with the defending Pac-12 champions.
Stanford on the other hand my not have that flashy
look to them but David Shaw and the Cards are TOUGH! Stanford has not lost a
game at home since 2010. This will be a pivotal game for not just the
conference but for playoff implications also.
