Royce Freeman rushed for 180 yards and 3 TDs Week 1 vs Eastern Washington (7) Oregon vs (5) Michigan State (8:00 pm EST on ABC) - In the first Top-10 match up of the season, the Spartans will try to avenge last season's 19 point loss to the Ducks in Spartan Stadium. Michigan State held Western Michigan to 18 total yards rushing and intercepted two passes. For the Ducks, this will be the first test for 1st year starter Vernon Adams Jr. Adams went 19-25 with 246 yards and 2 touchdowns in his debut versus FCS Eastern Washington. A key match up will be sophomore running back Royce Freeman against a Michigan State run defense that allowed 88.5 yards per game last season (#1 in NCAA).  If Michigan State wants to keep this game close they must control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and control the clock on offense. Oregon will use their high tempo offense to put up big points and force opposing offenses into making mistakes with the ball downfield.   Joshua ...

Florida State will face 2-3 Wake Forest in Tallahassee Saturday. 2. Oregon (4-0) IDLE The Ducks will play undefeated Arizona at home after a bye week. Week 5 CFB Playoff Pedictions

Week 5 Playoff Projections Ed Wilkins | College Football Analyst #1 Florida State 3-0 (LW: Win: Clemson F/OT-23-17 ) With Jameis Winston suspended for the game, Sean Maguire had to step in at quarterback to escaped Clemson in a thrilling overtime win. Maguire went 21-39 passing with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Florida State looked as if they were going to take a loss as Maguire threw an interception in their own territory with 2:14 remaining in the game. That stingy Florida State defense forced a turnover to get into overtime. A questionable 4 & 1 call from Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney gave the Seminoles all the momentum as they stopped the Tigers. Karolos Williams scored on a 12-yard touchdown run to save Florida State’s season. Winston will be back in the lineup next week as they take on North Carolina State (4-0), perhaps a trap game. #2 Oregon 4-0 (LW: Win: Washington State F/38-31) Superman Mariota threw for 329 yards and five touchdown...

1. Florida State (3-0) W vs #22 Clemson 23-17 OT Florida State escapes in what most thought was a sure loss for the Seminoles. Jameis Winston's suspension was extended to a game and back up Sean Maguire struggled throughout. Eddie Goldman forced a game saving fumble to send it into OT. FSU will travel to North Carolina State next week in their first ACC road game of the season.  2. Oregon (4-0) W at Washington State 38-31 Heisman hopeful Marcus Mariota throws for five touchdowns as the Ducks spoil the Cougars upset attempt. Despite Oregon giving up a shade under 500 yards of total offense, only 63 of those were rushing. Oregon will host Arizona on Oct. 2 3. Alabama (4-0) W vs Florida 42-21 Alabama out gained Florida 645-200 in total yards. Amari Cooper finished with 10 catches for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. Alabama will play Ole Miss on the road in their first SEC road game of the season. 4. Oklahoma (4-0) W @ West Virginia...

#4 Oklahoma vs West Virginia (7:30 ET FOX) West Virginia brings an explosive passing attack into this home game versus top 5 Oklahoma. Florida State transfer Clint Trickett is third in the nation in passing yards with 1224 in his first 3 games. In last week's win at Maryland Trickett threw for 511 yards and four touchdowns. His favorite target Kevin White is second in the nation in receiving yards with 460. Expect to see sophomore cornerback Zack Sanchez to cover  White for most of the night. Sanchez is tied for the national lead in interceptions with three. West Virginia is 5th national in passing yards and 2nd in completion percentage while the Sooners are 41st in pass defense. Expect the Mountaineers to test the Oklahoma pass defense early and often. Oklahoma will be without star running back Keith Ford which will put a strain on the rushing attack. West Virginia played Alabama tough week 1 so expect a high scoring game that comes down to the wire in Morgantown. Trickett...

Ed Wilkins | College Football Analyst #5 Auburn 2-0 @ #20 Kansas State 3-0 (thur)  7:30 ESPN Nick Marshall has a 119.9 QB rating in 2 games 5 th Ranked Auburn Tigers stumbles into Manhattan, Kansas Thursday night to take on Bill Snyder and Kansas State. Upsets happen quite often on Thursday nights. Auburn had very few problems with San Jose State and Arkansas. The Tigers will be faced with their first road challenge of the 2014 season. Cameron Artis-Payne, Corey Grant (Alabama transfer), and Nick Marshall are key to the Tigers success. Coach Malzahn wants to see improvement in Marshall’s passing, in other words feed the rock to Sammie Coates more. Do not count Kansas State out; they have a dual-threat quarterback also by the name of Jake Waters. Waters helped led the Wildcats to a game winning drive against Iowa State their last game. Kansas State is a smash mouth type football team. Dominating the line of scrimmage is huge in this game and if they are successful do...

Ed Wilkins | College Football Analyst # 1 Florida State 2-0 (LW:Bye-Week) ·      Last week the Seminoles did not have a game and took their bye-week to prepare for #22 Clemson as they come into Tallahassee. Week 3 Games to Watch Ed Wilkins | College Football Analyst Tennessee 2-0 @ #4 Oklahoma 2-0 ABC 8:00PM Trevor Knght throws for 299 and 2 touchdowns vs Tulsa ·      Bob Stoops is not shy to say that his team can compete with the SEC. Oklahoma did defeat Alabama in Sugar Bowl last season and this Saturday the Sooners meet their first test against a rising Volunteers team. Oklahoma’s defense has been lights out this season. The Sooners defense only has allowed 3 points in the first half! Do not sleep on Tennessee at all because the Vols have the type of speed on defense that can disrupt the quarterback. Keep your eyes on linebacker AJ Johnson to have an impact in this game. All eyes will be on Trevor Knight and Sterling Shepard when Oklahoma has the football. This will be a close football game! #12 UCLA 2-0 vs Texas 1-1 (AT&T Stadium) FOX 8:15PM Brent Hundley completed 69% of his passes in UCLA first two games ·     For m...

Ed Wilkins | College Football Analyst Week 3 Playoff Projections #1 Florida State 2-0 (LW: WIN: The Citadel F/37-12) ·         Nothing out of the ordinary, Florida State wins yet ANOTHER game, extending their win streak to 18 games. The Seminoles may have proved to us that they have depth; 10 different players caught a pass and 7 different players recorded rushing yards. Winston threw for 256 and 2 touchdowns in the rout over lower-tier The Citadel. Florida State was able to drive up and down the field while their starters were in the game (starters sat the 4 th quarter). Both touchdowns for The Citadel came in the 4 th quarter. Florida State has a bye-week then they are set to take on Clemson (Sep. 20). Look for the Seminoles to improve coming out of their bye-week. #2 Oregon 2-0 (LW: WIN: Michigan State F/46-27) ·        I learned that the Ducks are FAST, physical, and can face adversity well. The Ducks were ...
