Give it to The Brodie

Russell Westbrook is 7 triple-doubles short of Oscar Roberson's season season record of 41. Last night Westbrook recorded his 35th triple-double in the 122-97 win over Philadelphia. The Brodie became the 1st player in NBA history to get a triple-double while shooting 100% from the field going 6-6 and 6-6 from free throw.

If Russell Westbrook breaks the triple-double record he hands down the MVP. No way you don't award a once in a lifetime season with the MVP trophy. James Harden is the only other player that I would consider if Westbrook breaks the record. Harden has the Rockets in 3rd places in the western conference while the Thunder sit in 6th. Houston's had a roster much better than the Thunder. For Oklahoma City to be 6th is a feat in itself consider them losing 2 out of 3 star players this off season.

I can care less about team record if Westbrook breaks this record. No one thought that in this day a player could average a triple-double and Russell is doing that effortlessly. Not giving Westbrook the MVP would encourage superstars to move to bigger markets for individual success
