Russell Westbrook: The Last of a Dying Breed

Image
Russell Westbrook is the last of a unique breed of NBA players. Yes Lebron James is the best player in the world but there isn't a more fearless player in the NBA then Russell Westbrook. He has zero interest in making any friends on the court, if you are on the opposing team he doesn't just want to beat you he wants to destroy you. Is Lebron the best right now overall? Yes but pound for pound its hard to pick again Russell. He is on the verge of doing something that only the great Oscar Robertson did and that's average a triple double throughout the whole season. But lets put the stats aside for a minute; lets look at Russell Westbrook the basketball player minus the stats. Fearless, has unique drive to win, he plays every game like its his last, doesn't complain about needing help, he hasn't hid his emotions towards Kevin Durant leaving in other words if you're not on this mans team he hates you. These NBA players in this time period is so buddy buddy, but like

What's wrong with Steph?

Steph Curry over his last 7 games lets just call it what it is he's been awful shooting the ball. He is 18 for 76 from the three point line over that stretch which is 24%. He is struggling to find that rhythm he had all of last season. What could be the problem? Is it fatigue? Is it cause Kevin Durant is out with an injury ( even though he went 0-11 with KD on the floor )? In my opinion I just think he is missing shots he normally makes due mainly to fatigue and misfortune. I'm sure Steve Kerr is heck of a lot smarter then I am, but I feel like all he can do is keep shooting and give him adequate amount of rest. Steph has played a lot of basketball over the past 3 seasons and as you know the most important thing for a shooter is his legs and right now they seem to be very heavy for him. Guys like Kobe and Lebron are able to endure longer seasons because they have the ability to play from the post and get to certain spots. They game isn't predicated on shooting 30 footers e

King James The GOAT?

Lebron James simply put is NOT the Greatest of all time.. Lebron is definitely one of the greatest but not THE greatest.. Why is that you might ask? Good question. Statically he has a strong case with the multiple MVP's, Three NBA championships, 14 years of representing the NBA at the highest level, no arrest etc.. This guy has been a model of what you want the face of the NBA to be.. So what is he missing? He's missing that moment in his career, yes he's had big nights, the big game 6 in Boston, Finally getting by Detroit but those really aren't those GOAT moments.. For example moments like MJ and the flu game, or Kobe scoring 81, Kobe dropping 62 on Dallas in 3 quarters, Michael Jordan losing his Dad, Kobe rape case during the season ( falsely accused)) these guys just had adversity after adversity and it fueled them. Google           Lebron is great obviously and no one can debate that he's had an era of being the best player in the world but something is
