Royce Freeman rushed for 180 yards and 3 TDs Week 1 vs Eastern Washington (7) Oregon vs (5) Michigan State (8:00 pm EST on ABC) - In the first Top-10 match up of the season, the Spartans will try to avenge last season's 19 point loss to the Ducks in Spartan Stadium. Michigan State held Western Michigan to 18 total yards rushing and intercepted two passes. For the Ducks, this will be the first test for 1st year starter Vernon Adams Jr. Adams went 19-25 with 246 yards and 2 touchdowns in his debut versus FCS Eastern Washington. A key match up will be sophomore running back Royce Freeman against a Michigan State run defense that allowed 88.5 yards per game last season (#1 in NCAA).  If Michigan State wants to keep this game close they must control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and control the clock on offense. Upsets happen quite often on Thursday nights. Auburn had very few problems with San Jose State and Arkansas. The Tigers will be faced with their first road challenge of the 2014 season. Cameron Artis-Payne, Corey Grant (Alabama transfer), and Nick Marshall are key to the Tigers success. Coach Malzahn wants to see improvement in Marshall’s passing, in other words feed the rock to Sammie Coates more. Do not count Kansas State out; they have a dual-threat quarterback also by the name of Jake Waters. Waters helped led the Wildcats to a game winning drive against Iowa State their last game. Ed Wilkins | College Football Analyst # 1 Florida State 2-0 (LW:Bye-Week) ·      Last week the Seminoles did not have a game and took their bye-week to prepare for #22 Clemson as they come into Tallahassee. Look for Winston and Seminoles to prove not only their dominance in the conference but also nationally. #2 Oregon 3-0 (LW: Win: WYO F/48-14) ·        At the end of the 1 st  quarter, Wyoming was up on Oregon 7-0. The Ducks were sluggish at first but that did not stop them from scoring 48 points. Mariota completed 19 of 23 passes with two touchdowns through the air. Mariota also had 71 yards rushing with two touchdowns on the ground. While at Oregon, Mariota has thrown for 71 touchdowns which is a school record. The Ducks are definitely a fan favorite to make it to the College Football Playoffs.
