1. Ohio State (W @ Va. Tech 42-24) - Outscored Virginia Tech 27-1 in the 2nd half. Running back Ezekiel Elliot rushed for 122 yards on 11 carries. Braxton Miller caught 2 passes for 78 yards in his first start at receiver. Next Game: vs. Hawaii





 2. Alabama (W vs Wisconsin 35-17) Derrick Henry had a day against the #20 Badgers with 13 carries for 147 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Crimson Tide defense held Wisconsin to 40 yards rushing. Next Game: vs Middle Tenn. St.

 3. TCU (W @ Minnesota 23-17) - Minnesota stuck around throughout most of the game but TCU survives; winning their 9th straight game dating back to last season. Heisman hopeful Trevone Boykin completed 62% of his passes for 245 yards and a touchdown. Next Game: Stephen F. Austin

4. Baylor (W vs SMU 56-21) - The Bears scored 28 unanswered in the 2nd half after leading 28-21 at halftime. In his 2nd career start Seth Russell goes 15-20 376 yards and 5 touchdowns while adding 59 yards rushing ad a score. Next Game: vs Lamar

 

5. Oregon (W vs E. Washington 61-42) Royce Freeman carried the Ducks to their 4th straight season opener win. The sophomore running back had 21 carries for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. Vernon Adams Jr. added 2 scores through the air in the 19 point victory. Next Game: @ Michigan St.

 6. Michigan State (W @ W. Michigan 37-24) - The Spartans outrushed W. Michigan 196-18. 56 yards and 2 touchdowns came from redshirt freshman Madre London.  Quarterback Connor Cook added 2 touchdown through the air. Next Game: vs Oregon

 7. Auburn (W vs Louisville 31-24) - New DC Will Muschamp had his defense ready. Louisville did not score a touchdown until 1:21 left in the 3rd quarter. Auburn struggled offensive passing for 137 total yards and convering40% on 3rd down. Next Game: vs Jacksonville St.

8. USC (W vs Arkansas St. 55-6) - Heisman candidate Cody Kessler throws for 4 touchdowns in 3 quarters of play. Tre Madden adds 106 yards rushing and a touchdown. The Trojans haven't lost a season opener since 1997. Next Game: vs Arkansas St.

 9. Georgia (W vs La. Monroe 51-14) - In a game called early due to lighting, the Bulldogs out gained Louisiana-Monroe 435-251 in total yardage. Running back Nick Chubb scored 2 touchdown on the ground. Next Game: @ Vanderbilt

 10. Florida State (W vs Texas St. 59-16) - Everett Golson had full command of the FSU offensive in his 1st start going 19-25 with 302 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Seminoles had 636 total yards ad 30 first downs. Next Game: vs South Florida.

Google Why hasn't any NFL team signed Colin Kaepernick yet or will they for that matter? Does he even deserve another chance ? It's hard to make a case for him as of late, I mean in his last 24 starts he is just 4-20 which is awful to say the least. But lets be honest the San Fransico 4'9ers are an awful organization that was doomed the day they let Jim Harbaugh walk out the door. He was put into a position to fail as a quarterback over the past 2 seasons. So yes this man deserves another shot in the NFL. Since 1995 the 4'9ers have reached one Super Bowl and guess who was the quarterback? That's right Kaep!! He has 72 career touchdowns to just 30 interceptions, 2300 career rushing yards. In his first career post season game he totaled 444 total yards of offense with 4 touchdowns. This guy is a stud and you mean to tell me he can't even be a back up? Warriors Clinch Number 1 Seed

Last night the Golden State Warriors clinched their 3rd consecutive number 1 seed in the western conference playoffs with a 12 0-111 victory over the Phoenix Suns.  Stephen Curry finished the game 8-13 from 3-point range on the way to 43 points and 11 assist. Klay Thompson chipped in 22 points as the Warriors win their 13th straight game. During the Warriors winning streak Stephen Curry is 26.3 points and assist per game and shooting 46% from the 3-point line. As a team Golden State has figured out how to play at a high level despite losing their leading scorer Kevin Durant a little over a month ago. Losers of 4 out of their first 6 games without KD, the Warriors average margin of victory during their the streak is 15.3 points per game. Also with the win, Golden State become the 1st NBA team to win 65 games for 3 straight seasons. The Warriors have been the best team in the NBA since Steve Kerr took over 2 seasons ago. Tony Romo Retires

ESPN reports this morning that Tony Romo, former Dallas Cowboy starting quarterback will announce his retirement to pursue a career in broadcasting. Last season Romo's season was cut short due to a compressed fracture in the L1 vertebrae. While sidelined, Rookie Dak Prescott led Dallas to a 13-3 record, best since the 2007 season. Rumors swirled about trading Romo to the Texans, Broncos and a couple of more team. Romo will become the 5th lead commentator for CBS after taking Phill Simms spot. Don't think for a second this is a decision based on Tony's ability to still play football. He has plenty of game left. Romo would start in Denver, Houston, and Cleveland right now. Being in this position at CBS is a once in a lifetime opportunity. At 36 years old, and multiple season-ending injuries, it was time to think about life after football. Tony Romo is charismatic, well-spoken and will be a great addition to the CBS family.
