76ers protest

Last night the Philadelphia proved the ultra talented rising R&B singer Sevyn Streeter to be absolutely correct by wearing the shirt "We matter" in a silent protest of the social injustice towards minorities. Before last nights season opener between the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder it was some extreme controversy as to why R&B

singer Sevyn Streeter was getting ready to perform the national anthem before being notified that she had being pulled because of a shirt she chose to wear that said "We matter"... That's right not "black lives matter" it simply stated "We Matter" and the Philadelphia 76ers failed their fans, the city, the players, coaches and this young woman. The statement from the organization was total contradiction of their actions of pulling her from singing the national anthem.

1."The Philadelphia 76ers encourage meaningful action to drive social change." No! No y'all don't! If you really believed those words I wouldn't be writing this article. She simply wore a shirt that didn't single out not one particular group it said "WE matter" if Kelly Clarkson or Taylor Swift have that shirt on are they pulled? I highly doubt that, you guys assumed and reacted and tried to hide behind it with a bs statement.

2. "We use our games to bring people together, to build trust and to strengthen our communities." No! No y'all don't!! How can removing a young female with the shirt "WE matter" unifying anything? The decision to remove this young lady was premature wasn't thought out and simply shouldn't have happened. Even though everything shouldn't be a racial issue, this doesn't help heal any of those racial wombs. The organization in my opinion was wrong and should issue a public apology, things in this country are divided enough we should focus on ways to unify and we can't do that unless we actually listen to why people feel the way they do.
