Dirty Play? Sparks Warriors Comeback Over Spurs

Yesterday's Game 1 one matchup couldn't have been going any better for the San Antonio Spurs in which they jumped out to a 14 point lead at the end of the first quarter and eventually adding to that going into half leading by 20 points and holding that high powered Warriors offense to only 42 points. Steph Curry came out cooking in the second half even before Kawhi went down in which he hosted 19 of his 40 in the 3rd but the obvious changing moment in the game was when Kawhi attempted a jump shot and ZaZa Pachulla who has a history of questionable plays closed out and Kawhi Leonard landed on his foot reinjuring that left ankle that kept him out of Game 6 vs the Houston Rockets.

Was it a dirty play? In my opinion it was a basketball play that was committed by a dirty player so he really can't get the benefit of the doubt. It is a play we see happen multiple times over the course of a season, and in the game of basketball it is a surprise that it doesn't happen more often. If it was Steph Curry who contested the shot and Leonard came down on his ankle I wonder if we would still consider it a dirty play? But who knows if it was intentional I guess only ZaZa can answer that for us. But one thing we noticed for sure was soon as Leonard left the floor the Warriors erupted for an 18-0 spurt and seen the MVP's ( Steph and Durant) catch fire. After scoring just 42 points in the 1st half the Warriors scored 71 in the second, so its safe to say the Spurs missed Kawhi. The Warriors trailed by as many as 25 were able to come back and squeak out a 113-111 victory over the Spurs. But taking a step back and really looking at this series the Warriors looked like a team that was just getting off vacation in the first half, truth be told with or without Kawhi they were probably going to win this series but with the status of Kawhi for the rest of this series being uncertain it seems like all we can do is get ready for Cavaliers/ Warriors Part 3!
