Week 4 CFB Playoff Predictions

Ed Wilkins | College Football Analyst

# 1 Florida State 2-0 (LW:Bye-Week)

·    Last week the Seminoles did not have a game and took their bye-week to prepare for #22 Clemson as they come into Tallahassee. Look for Winston and Seminoles to prove not only their dominance in the conference but also nationally.

#2 Oregon 3-0 (LW: Win: WYO F/48-14)

·      At the end of the 1st quarter, Wyoming was up on Oregon 7-0. The Ducks were sluggish at first but that did not stop them from scoring 48 points. Mariota completed 19 of 23 passes with two touchdowns through the air. Mariota also had 71 yards rushing with two touchdowns on the ground. While at Oregon, Mariota has thrown for 71 touchdowns which is a school record. The Ducks are definitely a fan favorite to make it to the College Football Playoffs. Oregon starts Pac-12 play as they go to Washington State to play the Cougars for their first road test.

#3 Alabama 3-0 (LW: Win: USM F/52-12)

·    The Blake Sims and Jake Coker saga continues as Bama still does not have a solidified number one quarterback. Sims was 12-17 with 168 yards passing and 2 passing touchdowns. The nation’s best receiver Amari Cooper recorded 8 receptions on 135 yards and 1 touchdown. Defensively The Tide dominated the offensive line as they gave up only 56 yards rushing. Alabama has won their last 25 out of 27 games. Alabama opens up conference play at home against Florida. The Tide has won 22 straight SEC openers, last time these two met Alabama won 38-10.

#4 Oklahoma (LW: Win: Tenn F/34-10)

·      So this Trevor Knight kid is pretty good! Knight threw for 308 yards with 1 touchdown, he also ran for touchdown. The Sooners best receiver Sterling Shepard had 8 receptions with 109 yards. The win was not as dramatic as the Sugar Bowl win over Alabama but it was dominate over yet another SEC team. Bob Stoops said he was impressed and proud the way his team played. The Sooners defense looked very good against the young and talented athletes of Tennessee. The Sooners gave up 313 yards but forced 3 turnovers. Oklahoma only gives up 11 points per game. The Sooners have to travel to a sneaky West Virginia Mountaineer team  as they begin Big 12 play. Upset alert perhaps?

First Four Out

1. Auburn 2-0
2. Texas A&M 3-0
3. Baylor 3-0

4. LSU 3-0
