Durant Hits Clutch 3 Warriors up 3-0

The Golden State Warriors is now one win away from their second NBA title in 3 years after winning Game 3 118-113. Kevin Durant made a clutch three point shot with 45 seconds left to give the Warriors a 114-113 lead. Durant finished the game with a team high 31 points and 9 rebounds. Stephen Curry continues to have an outstanding series grabbing a playoff career high 13 rebounds to go along with 26 points. Klay Thompson also played big, scoring 30 points (16 in the 1st quarter). LeBron James and Kyrie Irving played great for the Cavs. LeBron scored 39 points but only had 11 of those points in the second half. Kyrie Irving was struggling until his 16 point 3rd quarter and ended the game with 38 points.

Golden State can become the 1st team to finish a NBA playoffs undefeated

The Warriors have beat the Cavaliers three different ways in three games. Game 1 Golden State played perfect team basketball (4 total turnovers). Game 2 the Warriors turned the ball over 20 times and still won by 19. Game 3 was the most impressive of them all. All season the Cavaliers destroyed the eastern conference with isolation basketball. LeBron and Kyrie are elite offensive talents that can score on anyone at anytime. Now they playing a team with the best isolation players in the world. Between Durant, Curry and Thompson, the Cavs don't have the firepower to match the Warriors point for point.

Now that Cleveland is down 3-0 we can be honest with ourselves and admit that the supporting cast for the Cavs is horrible. There was no production offensive outside of Kyrie and LeBron. Kevin Love shot 1-9 from the field in Game 3. Draymond Green is one of the best defenders in the league but that's still no excuse for not making shots in a must win game. J.R. Smith hit a big 3 late but couldn't stop a soul on defense. No way you allow Klay Thompson to hit you for 16 points in the 1st quarter.

Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are the 1st teammates to average 28 points per game in the NBA Finals

Cleveland played championship basketball for 45 minutes then it all fell apart. Cleveland always fall into playing hero ball and Golden State is the worst team to do that against. Just to stay in the game LeBron and Kyrie had to use maximum energy and was burnt out coming down the stretch. Kyrie missed a layup late, something he hardly does and shot a horrible step back 3 with 26 seconds left. LeBron only took 5 shots in the 4th quarter and allowed Durant to walk into that go-ahead three. I've never seen LeBron this passive on both ends of the floor. As the game went on his aggression went away.

If the Cavs lose, LeBron James will tie Larry Foust for most NBA Finals losses with 5

Consider Cleveland swept. Golden State is on a mission to be one of the greatest teams of all time and took the Cavs best punch right on the chin. Now that Kevin Durant is around a team full of stars, he is playing at a high and comfortable level. Not only is LeBron James one game away from getting swept in the finals for the 2nd time, but there is really nothing he can do to stop it.
