Warriors Win Big. Up 2-0

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 132-113 to take a commanding 2-0 series lead. Kevin Durant had a game high 33 points along with 13 rebounds and 6 assist. Stephen Curry finishes with 32 points 10 rebounds and 11 assist, his first career playoff triple-double. LeBron James also had a triple-double with 29 points 11 rebounds and 14 assist. Kevin Love was impressive with 27 points and 7 rebounds.

I'm not expecting the Cavs to come back and win this series, but I do expect Cleveland to come back at home in game 3 and get back to playing their game. Tristan Thompson having 4 rebounds is unacceptable. Kyrie Irving shooting 35% from the field is unacceptable. J.R. Smith having 0 points is mind blowing. On top of that the Cavaliers bench shot horrible from the field. Channing Frye 1-5 Iman Shumpart 0-6 and Deron Williams 0-5. Are the Cavs even trying?

LeBron James is tired. James played 39 minutes in Game 2. He has been averaging 40 minutes per game in the playoffs. At 32 years old and 7 straight NBA Finals later, the minutes are adding up. LeBron has to be the main scorer, best defender and run the offense from the point guard position. Someone else as to step up and take responsibility for one of those roles if Cleveland wants any chance of coming back in this series.

Everybody has been saying since last season how much better Kyrie Irving is over Steph Curry but Kyrie can't even step up and be a point guard. If Kyrie is not making shots he just stands in the corner on offense. Kyrie is already a liability on defense. Steph Curry having a field day. Kyrie has to raise his game to another level because right now he look like a fish in a pool full of sharks.

Where was all of this aggressive offense from Kevin Durant last season when Oklahoma City was up 3-1 on the Warriors? I never seen Durant play like that before. Of course he can score it with the best in basketball history, but 5 blocks?  Durant look like the best player in the world. This is why he left OKC. Durant is playing with total confidence that if by some chance he's having an off night he can relay of the best shooters in the world to pick him up.

Golden State as a team is hitting on all cylinders. Klay Thompson had 22 after an off night in Game 1. Ian Clark and Shaun Livingston had 10 points a piece. Cleveland has to find it within themselves to make some stop on defense and turn this series around. I refuse to believe that Golden State is this much of a better team than Cleveland. Once Cleveland get back to playing at the level I know their capable of this will be a much more competitive series.
