Melo Deserves Love

Image
businessinsider.com Phil Jackson want to trade Carmelo Anthony because he doesn't feel like Melo is the type of player you can build a franchise around. That on top of Kristap Porzingis success has Jackson wanting to start the rebuilding process as soon as possible. Problem is, the contract Melo's is under now has him making around $54 million dollars over the next 2 years, with the 2nd year being a player option. No NBA team is giving up start players or prime lottery picks for an aging superstar who makes a ton of money.  Another problem that Phil Jackson has with trading Melo is that Anthony has a no trade clause in his contract. Any trade involving a team that Melo doesn't want to play for is out of the question. Melo not playing for a team who is bad enough to have a top lottery pick. And any team contending for a championship doesn't want to add a one dimensional player to their lineup. So Melo is stuck in New York. Phil Jackson hates him. The fans are sta...

The Death Penalty

Image
Minnesota Gophers football program may have just sentenced its own program to the ultimate Death Penalty. The suspension of players and firing of coach Tracy Claeys in the recent month may have started a fire at Minnesota that no one person can put out.         Let's first discuss the players being suspended. The players were accused of sexual assault and was cleared through a police investigation, and an internal investigation both found that the players were clear of any unlawful crimes. A 90 second video was released in which a female is seen giving oral sex to one player while another player is having vaginal intercourse from the back. The video also indicates that at no point did she want it to stop, it appeared entirely consensual. At no point did these players break the law. (Picture above and below provided by Google)        Now on to the Coach being fired. He was reportedly fired because of ticket ...

Is Ronda done??

Image
Ronda Rousey has enjoyed one of the quickest rise to fame, bullying her way to the top of the Octagon arguably the BIGGEST attraction male or female in that sports history.. And just as fast as she got to the top, she has fallen very hard to a point of no return. Ms.Rousey was known for her arrogance and confidence entering the ring, claiming 12 straight victories 11 of which never went past the first round. She had the sport on lockdown, nobody was thought to even be close to her level. So what has changed so much from then to now you might asked. I tell you what changed at no point as a fighter can you get too comfortable and she thought just showing up would be enough and Holly Holm ended her streak and effectively her career.. Was Ronda a great champion? The answer is simply no. A champion is one who responds to adversity and still finds a way to succeed. Ronda lost and she never responded. She ducked the media, contemplated retirement etc which is a sign of severe weakness. I wi...

Stephen A. Sellout

Image
(vibe.com) Stephen A. Smith is completely wrong for his comments towards San Fransisco quarterback Colin  Kaepernick. My goodness. This man does not like any of the candidates; so you criticize him for not contributing to people he doesn't believe in? You say you don't want to hear his voice? You hope he goes away? He doesn't deserve to be in the NFL? He's not a hypocrite Stephen A., you're a damn coon that's trying to play the fence. In America, we realize the challenges African-Americans face come from years of being oppressed. In which most African Americans still are. These two candidates in Kaepernick eyes wasn't fit to be voted for so he withheld it, which he has the RIGHT TO DO!! So let me ask you this Stephen A Smith, who's really in the wrong. Kaepernick for withholding his vote or you  for coming on National TV in front of millions of viewers and bashing this brother like this. This brother has been put in every position to fail ...

The Best Decision for Both

Kevin Durant leads the Warriors in points, steals and blocks (bleacherreport.com) Kevin Durant leaving OKC was a huge disappoint to me. As a fan of small market teams, seeing Durand and Russell Westbrook having success in the NBA was refreshing to watch. With LeBron "allegedly" creating superteams, OKC has primarily built their team off of draft picks. In 3 consecutive years the Thunder drafted Durant, Westbrook and Houston Rockets point guard James Harden and in 2012 lost to the Miami Heat in 5 games. Questionable roster moves followed including trading James Harden to the Rockets for Kevin Martin and others; to clear cap space to keep rim protector Serge Ibaka. With season-lingering injuries to Kevin and Russell, the Thunder's window to win a championship were steadily declining The Oklahoma City front office received mostly negative criticism after the firing of coach Scott Brooks. Brooks who lead the Thunder to the playoffs each of his first 5 season was let ...

Don't Forget About The MVP

Image
Demitry Johnson Curry scores 23 points in the 3rd quarter Tuesday night (youtube.com) Somewhere between Game 7 of last year's NBA Finals and last night's game between Portland and Golden State it seemed the league forget about "The Assassin" also known as Steph Curry. Early season MVP candidates include Lebron, Westbrook, Lillard, Anthony Davis, even Kawhi Leonard but no Steph. With Kevin Durant joining the Warriors it will make it almost impossible for him to win the award but not mentioning him has to be a slap in the face to the only unanimous MVP in league history. In the 1st half of last night game Curry scored a total of 5 points while Damian Lillard filled it up with 22. Not going lie; I was one quick to judge that Lillard may have surpassed Steph but in a blink of an eye this assassin came out and killed all doubt. 23 points in the 3rd and we seen Steph get into one of those zones where he can shoot from the parking lot and we are surprised i...
