Golden State up 3-0 versus Utah

The Warriors took a 3-0 lead versus the Utah Jazz Saturday night with a 102-91 win. The Warriors are now one win away from their 3rd consecutive western conference finals appearance.

Utah is no match for this Warriors team and we all knew that coming in. I'm just happy that the Jazz beat the Clippers because Doc Rivers is one of the most overrated coaches in NBA history, but thats another story. The Jazz have the right coach in Quin Snyder. Snyder preaches ball movement and tough interior defense. Rudy Gobert is a future all-star. The 4th year big man averages 14 points 12.8 rebounds and leads the NBA with 2.6 blocks.

The biggest question for Utah is the future of Gordon Hayward. Hayward has been the go-to guy for the Jazz, getting them back to the playoffs for the first time since 2012. A lot of teams that need a scoring spark are looking to sign Hayward this summer including the Celtics, Heat and Clippers. Utah is talented but they don't have enough to keep Hayward.

Another concern for the Jazz is the development of Rodney Hood and Dante Exum. Both players have been battling injuries which may have hindered their progression. Now that Hayward and point guard George Hill are unrestricted free agents, will the Jazz gamble on Hood and Exum being stars or will the Jazz make moves to either trade them or draft players in their position.

This series is over for the most part. Golden State is firing on all cylinders and even with Steph Curry shooting 6-20 in Game 3 the Warriors were in control for most of the game. Next round Golden State will face the Spurs or the Rockets. Doesn't matter which team wins that series, the Warriors will easily make their 3rd straight finals. Golden State's roster is designed to score tons of points and defend efficiently.

Game 4 tonight at 7:00 central. I expect the Jazz to give an all out effort but fall short once again. The Warriors have the best 3 shooters in the NBA and the best defender in Draymond Green. Not much the Jazz can do against that talent. Utah had an outstanding season finishing 5th in the west, making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs and will now face their most important offseason in recent history.
